POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical/Electronics Engineer will be responsible for documentation, testing, product design, development, and analysis of mechanical components and products.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop innovative designs to meet the requirements of the product or device being developed, applying engineering skills & methodologies to meet the requirements of the design
- Apply knowledge and experience to develop high quality products that are functionally complete in a timely manner
- Learn the product and device development processes identifying and recording any process improvements
- Design of parts and products from concept through to production. Initiates design reviews and documents milestones through the course of the development process.
- Conducts product teardowns to identify potential issues or cost reduction opportunities
- Evaluate products and devices according to recognized standards and procedures.
- Updates existing designs for external or internal customer-initiated improvements
- Develops test specifications based on detailed design documents
- Investigates and resolves customer issues
- Tests of productsdevices or test processes by applying recognized testing and debugging principles to establish that the design meets the requirements
- Initiates process changes or corrective action to improve quality, yield or manufacturing cycle time
- Updates specifications or test procedures
FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proficient in CAD/Simulation tools such as PTC Creo and SolidWorks
- Proficient in sheet metal and injection molded plastic design as well as fasteners
- Detailed knowledge on engineering drawings and documentation
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good mentoring skills
- Proficient in documentation tools like MS Office
- Innovative is a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electronics Engineering
- 5-10 years of related experience
