JOB TITLE: Senior Geologist
DEPARTMENT: Exploration Department
REPORTING TO: Chief Geologist
LOCATION: Project Sites/Head Office
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Geologist is responsible for supervising and implementing exploration work programs, managing field teams, and ensuring high technical and safety standards in geological operations. The role involves geological data interpretation, resource evaluation support, and supervising junior geologists and field staff. The position requires coordination with regulatory bodies, contractors, and local stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with company and government requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exploration & Resource Development
- Lead field operations including geologic mapping, trenching, sampling, and drilling programs.
- Supervise QA/QC procedures in sampling, logging, and data management.
- Prepare detailed geological logs, maps, sections, and technical reports as required for each project.
- Support mineral resource estimations and assist in technical studies.
2. Project Execution & Team Supervision
- Translate exploration plans into operational work programs and field activities.
- Supervise and train junior geologists, drill crews, and samplers.
- Help maintain and organize the field camp, core shed, and sample storage areas.
- Monitor project progress, costs, and schedule adherence, reporting variances to the Chief Geologist.
- Provide preliminary interpretations of exploration results and recommend follow-up work.
3.Stakeholder & Compliance Support
- Assist in permit validation, documentation, technical reporting, and submissions to MGB/DENR.
- Coordinate with landowners, local communities, and contractors to ensure field access and smooth operations. Represent the company at industry conferences, technical meetings, and stakeholder forums, positioning the company as a credible and responsible mining operator.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and represent the technical team when required.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, environmental policies, and community engagement guidelines in the field.
- Perform other task/s as may be required by the immediate supervisor that are aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
