Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

About the Role:

As a full-stack software engineer at FGI, you'll design and build e-commerce sites, customer journey analytics tools, and data infrastructure pipelines on modern tech stacks (react/next + flask + AWS, Airflow + Google Data Studio + BigQuery).

We are an expanding team with an abundance of growth and influence opportunities. You will work directly with the engineering head of the company (an ex-Google engineer) and help to set the team's culture and technical direction. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, code reviews and design and deliver on projects end-to-end.

You will:

• Architect and implement efficient and reusable full-stack systems that drive complex web applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to scope and own projects throughout their lifecycle, from inception to supporting production
• Experiment and iterate on features based on metrics and customer feedback
• Identify and resolve performance, compatibility and scalability issues
• Participate in the engineering process: design/code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and technical training
• Decompose complex problems into manageable tasks and delegate in ways that help junior colleagues grow
• Stay current with the latest front-end and back-end technologies, best practices, and share your findings with the rest of the team

Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional experience with web/frontend development.
• Excellent HTML/CSS/Javascript/Typescript skills.
• Experience working across the entire web application stack and expertise in at least one complete vertical/set of frameworks. (e.g. frontend: React, Vue, Next, Angular, backend: Flask, Django, Rails, Express.js, Nest.js)
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing on both front/back-end.
• An interest in mentorship, learning from others, and digging into new challenges
• The ability to work with other roles such as designers, product managers, data scientists, marketing, and business development, to bring together a great experience-driven product
• Expertise with cloud infrastructure and automated infrastructure management on services such as GCP and AWS
