Project: InSight is a diagnostic tool (web-based application) that helps TELUS support teams quickly identify and fix customer service issues.
Who uses it: Technical support staff, Tier 2 teams, back office support, and field technicians
What it does: Checks the health of customer's TELUS services (Internet, TV, Home Security, etc.) and automatically:
- Detects service outages
- Verifies services are set up correctly
- Identifies potential problems
- Provides step-by-step troubleshooting flows that can resolve different kinds of issues
Why it matters: It's an all-in-one tool that replaces the need for multiple diagnostic tools, making troubleshooting faster and more efficient.

Core Responsibilities (Lead Applications Developer Analyst)
- Collaborate with workflow designers, business SMEs, and architects throughout assessment and development
- Implement workflow specifications using xtend and Java
- Assess technical impact, effort estimates, and testing requirements (including BT/performance testing)
- Integrate workflows with backend systems and data points
- Troubleshoot and provide alternative solutions as needed
Technical Requirements
- Primary: Expert Java programming (xtend preferred)
- Full-stack: Strong understanding of both frontend and backend development
- Cloud: GCP platform experience, Kubernetes, deployments, and error monitoring
- Integration: SOAP, REST, JAXB services; middleware/connector development
- Tools: Version control (GitHub), Swagger, OpenAPI, Solvatio Studio
- Languages: Multiple languages (Xtend, Java, JavaScript, SQL, etc.)
- Data: Understanding of data flow, performance optimization, and analytics databases
