About the Role

As a Senior AI Frontend Engineer, you own the design and delivery of web and native iOS/Android experiences that put our AI systems directly into the hands of government and enterprise users. You lead frontend implementation across delivery teams, set the technical direction for how AI capabilities such as chat, voice, and agentic workflows are surfaced, and ensure the web applications, mobile apps, and SDKs that expose them are production-grade.

This role is suited for experienced engineers with deep frontend fundamentals across web and native mobile who can architect and ship complex, user-facing AI products — integrating LLMs, streaming responses, and on-device AI — and raise the engineering standard of the teams around them.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of React (TypeScript/Next.js) web applications that integrate AI and LLM capabilities
• Own the architecture and delivery of native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) applications that integrate AI and LLM capabilities
• Design chat, voice, and conversational UI components that consume streaming LLM responses (SSE/WebSocket) across web and mobile, and establish reusable patterns for them
• Lead integration of on-device and cloud AI/ML models (e.g., Core ML, ML Kit, TensorFlow Lite) for on-device inference where required
• Design and maintain the API/SDK integration layers connecting web and mobile apps to backend AI services, including LLM endpoints and retrieval pipelines
• Set the standard for app performance, latency, memory, and battery/bundle-size optimisation for AI-driven features
• Define secure handling of user data and model outputs in line with data protection and security guidelines
• Partner with backend/AI engineers, designers, and product managers to translate requirements into well-architected web and native mobile features
• Establish and uphold engineering standards for clean, testable, maintainable React/TypeScript, Swift, and Kotlin code
• Own testing (unit/UI/E2E), release management (web deploys, App Store/Play Store), and monitoring of AI-driven frontend features
• Lead debugging and performance tuning across the frontend-to-backend AI pipeline
• Drive code reviews and technical discussions, and mentor mid-level and junior frontend engineers
• Maintain clear documentation and reusable patterns for implemented components

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years experience building web and/or native iOS/Android applications in production
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern web tooling (e.g., Next.js)
• Solid working knowledge of Swift/SwiftUI and/or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, with the ability to work across web and native platforms
• Proven experience integrating REST APIs and streaming interfaces (SSE/WebSockets) into frontend applications
• Good understanding of LLMs, prompting, and AI product concepts, and experience shipping AI-driven user experiences
• Experience with CI/CD, web deployment pipelines, and App Store / Play Store release processes
• Strong grasp of UX patterns for conversational and AI-driven interfaces across web and mobile
• A track record of owning features end to end and raising the technical bar of a team
• Clear communication and collaboration skills, including mentoring and technical leadership
