Job Description

Who is Bare

Bare is one of Australia's fastest growing businesses, in one of the most traditional industries in the world — the funeral industry.

We exist to make end-of-life care accessible, affordable and transparent, changing the way Australians deal with death. For too long, the industry has delivered expensive, traditional, cookie-cutter services that don't reflect how modern Australians want to say goodbye.

By combining empathy with technology, we're creating end-of-life experiences that are simple, personalised and affordable. In just five years, we've supported more than 40,000 families, become Australia's most awarded end-of-life provider (recognised for customer service, innovation and digital disruption), and built a team of 100+ passionate people.

And we're just getting started.

As part of our continued growth, we're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team.

So, what's the role

This is not your typical Senior Financial Analyst role. You'll work closely with our VP Finance and senior leadership team, helping to drive financial insight and discipline across one of Australia's fastest growing companies.

You'll play a key role in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting and business partnering, turning financial data into meaningful insights that support smart commercial decisions.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideal for someone who enjoys digging into the numbers, improving processes, and influencing business decisions.

You'll be responsible for:

-Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports, including P&L, gross profit, EBITDA, and cash flow analysis, delivering clear variance analysis, trend insights, and key KPIs such as LTV/CAC and other commercial metrics.

-Owning the budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple entities

-Building and maintaining financial models to support planning and decision-making

-Providing financial insights and analysis to support senior leadership and operational teams

-Partnering with State Leads and department heads to monitor performance and improve margins

-Assisting with reconciliations and financial data accuracy across systems

-Supporting compliance with BAS, PAYGW, FBT and other regulatory requirements

-Assisting with audit preparation and working with external auditors

-Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency

-Leading the implementation of automation, AI tools and improved reporting frameworks

-Report to Finance Manager and working closely with senior stakeholders

What will set you apart from other candidates:

-You're analytical and commercially minded, able to turn data into meaningful insights

-You enjoy solving problems and improving processes

-You're comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments

-You're highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities

-You take ownership and initiative, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement

-You're curious and interested in leveraging technology and automation in finance

What you'll bring:

-A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

-CPA, CA or CMA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded

-5+ years experience in financial analysis, reporting

-Strong experience with financial reporting, forecasting and variance analysis

-Advanced Excel / financial modelling skills

-Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems

-Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders

What's in it for you

-This isn't your ordinary finance role, in your ordinary company. You'll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture where we succeed together. We offer autonomy, flexibility and real ownership. No two days are the same — and that's exactly how we like it.

In addition, we offer:

-Strong opportunities for career growth and progression

-A high-performing and highly engaged team environment

-Autonomy and flexibility, including work-from-home options

-A competitive remuneration package

-The opportunity to help transform an industry and make a real human impact

The main reason you'll join, however, is because you believe in what we're building. You're excited by growth. You want to help scale a business that is genuinely changing lives — and you want your finance expertise to be part of that journey.

Please include your resume in your application. Thank you!
