We're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of the numbers that matter. In this role, you'll be the financial backbone for a growing business, transforming how MYOB is used, keeping accounts clean and current, and delivering sharp management reports that help owners make confident decisions. You'll work closely with an external accountant and play a key role in elevating the entire finance function - from payroll and super to cash flow and compliance.

Your Impact

• MYOB Maestro: Lead improvements to MYOB so it delivers live, accurate business data - including chart of accounts clean-up, report setup, and ensuring bills, invoices, payroll, super, GST, and bank reconciliations are all properly maintained.

• Accounts Ace: Review bills from the admin team, check GST and general ledger coding, oversee bank reconciliations, and prepare debtor and creditor reports that keep the business firmly in the picture.

• Payroll Powerhouse: Review payroll data before processing, verify staff hours and super obligations, reconcile super payable amounts against payroll and payments, and track due dates so nothing slips through the cracks.

• Cash Flow Commander: Prepare weekly cash-flow reports and clear management summaries covering cash at bank, invoices issued, debtors, creditors, payroll, super, ATO obligations, and upcoming payments - plus a weekly owner action list.

• Compliance Collaborator: Work directly with the external accountant to prepare clean BAS and tax support packs, organized reconciliations, and compliance documentation - ensuring they always receive complete, tidy records rather than messy data.

What You Bring

• MYOB Fluency: Solid, hands-on experience using and improving MYOB for small to medium businesses, including system setup, reporting, and day-to-day transactional management.

• Payroll Precision: Proven ability to review and reconcile payroll, superannuation, and PAYG obligations with accuracy and a strong eye for compliance.

• GST & BAS Know-How: Confident handling of GST coding, BAS preparation support, and ATO compliance documentation.

• Reconciliation Rigor: Strong background in bank reconciliations, debtor and creditor reporting, and preparing payment schedules that flag issues before they become problems.

• Reporting Smarts: Experience producing cash-flow reports and management reports that translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for business owners.

• Collaborative Credibility: Comfortable working alongside external accountants and delivering organized, well-prepared information that supports efficient review and compliance processes.

• Leadership Edge: Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior accounts or admin staff, with a knack for improving finance processes and lifting team performance.
