Your Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will:

• Lead and mentor the Finance Team across daily Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger operations.
• Prepare timely, accurate monthly/quarterly financial statements, annual statutory reports, fixed asset registers, and amortisation schedules.
• Execute Australian statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory lodgements (PAYG, Income Tax, BAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation).
• Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, product costings, and operational analysis while continually optimizing systems, policies, and workflows.
• Supervise and coach finance staff, oversee performance evaluations, manage onboarding, and ensure strict compliance with company safety and operational policies.
  
  

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• 3+ years of experience in people management, directly leading teams of 2–3+ finance staff members.
• Strong prior hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics or a similar enterprise-level ERP system.
• Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated hands-on expertise in Power Query and complex data modeling.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS, general ledger mechanics, and debits/credits, with the ability to map complete transaction flows from P&L and Balance Sheet through to the Trial Balance.
• Hands-on experience working directly with tax authorities and statutory regulators (submitting returns, financial statements, or audit queries).
  
  

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Sound working knowledge of Australian statutory financial reporting obligations, tax frameworks, and accounting standards.
• Experience developing commercial strategies, costings, and operational financial analysis in fast-paced environments.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with C-suite executives, internal teams, and external auditors/financiers.
• Demonstrated track record in process automation, financial workflow improvements, and internal controls.
• Background supporting agribusiness, supply chain, or multi-entity commercial operations.
