Job Description

The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, tax compliance, and financial planning activities. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supports strategic business decisions through financial analysis, and drives process improvements to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency. The Senior Finance Officer also provides guidance to the finance team while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including the review of journal entries, vouchers, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory and regulatory requirements, including BIR, SEC, LGUs, and other government agencies.
  • Lead financial planning activities, including annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support organizational objectives.
  • Prepare financial models and feasibility studies to evaluate business opportunities, capital investments, and new projects.
  • Support management through financial analysis, business insights, and strategic recommendations for operational and investment decisions.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance accounting workflows, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key financial metrics to ensure sound financial management.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to finance staff, promoting continuous learning, accountability, and high performance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial and compliance audits.
  • Perform other finance-related duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant supervisory or senior-level experience in General Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), taxation, budgeting, financial planning, and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials (R12) or other ERP accounting systems is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the property development, real estate, hotel, or hospitality industry is an advantage.
  • Background in budgeting, forecasting, tax planning, financial modeling, and business analysis.
  • Experience supporting executive management through strategic financial planning and decision-making.
  • Proven experience in driving process improvements and strengthening financial controls.
