HVC business in the Philippines started over 25 years ago with two stock points located in Makati and Cebu City. HOYA Lens Philippines has around 40 employees dedicated to marketing HOYA and Seiko lenses.
The Position
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial records. The Finance Accountant will play a critical role in statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory submissions. This position requires strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of local accounting standards and government regulations, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for management. As part of the Finance Department, ensure adherence to statutory requirements, and contribute to strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Compliance (BIR)
- Prepare and file all required tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and other levies with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).- Ensure timely submission of tax documents to avoid penalties and maintain accurate records for audits and inspections.- Monitor changes in tax laws and implement updates to internal processes accordingly.
2. Financial Statements & SEC Reporting
-Prepare audited financial statements in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).- Submit annual reports and disclosures to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as required.- Ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance in statutory financial reporting.
3. Audit & External Liaison
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.- Provide accurate documentation and timely responses during statutory audits and compliance reviews.- Support internal audit processes by maintaining proper records and strengthening internal controls.
4. Regulatory Monitoring & Governance
- Stay updated on evolving accounting standards, corporate governance codes, and industry-specific regulations.- Implement compliance calendars and internal controls to ensure ongoing adherence to statutory requirements.- Safeguard the company's financial integrity by proactively identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
