Our client is a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and solutions, serving customers across the electronics and advanced manufacturing industries worldwide. They are looking for an experienced Senior External Manufacturing (EM) Quality Manager to lead supplier quality assurance for fabricated parts, cables, PCBA, module assembly and surface treatment processes.

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, this role will ensure that quality delivered by external manufacturing partners consistently meets required standards, while building and leading a strong supplier quality management system in close collaboration with the External Manufacturing (EM) team.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with the EM team to evaluate and select potential suppliers, including conducting supplier audits and assessing quality system effectiveness.
• Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain supplier quality agreements and contracts.
• Design and implement a comprehensive supplier quality programme to ensure consistency and alignment with company standards and requirements.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers against established quality metrics, including on-time delivery, product conformity and specification compliance.
• Identify risks associated with supplier quality and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise supply chain disruption.
• Drive continuous improvement with suppliers by identifying opportunities and working collaboratively to implement changes.
• Maintain effective cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production and quality assurance teams to resolve supplier quality issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation of supplier quality evaluations, audits and performance metrics, and prepare regular management reporting on findings, trends and recommendations.
• Build team capability in quality engineering and supplier quality management.
• Lead the team to meet company quality KPIs and targets.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electronics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of supplier quality management experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of precision metal fabrication, machining, wire cut, EDM die casting and secondary processes (e.g. powder coating, anodizing, plating, passivation).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, and tools such as DFMEA/FMEA, MSA, SPC, APQP and PPAP.
• Familiarity with Attribute Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) methods in supplier quality audits.
• Proficiency in calculating and interpreting Cp and Cpk values.
• Experience managing frequent engineering change updates and new part/process implementation while balancing quality, cost and delivery.
• Proficiency in quality management tools and software (e.g. JMP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, QC 7 tools).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Fluent in English, and Mandarin. Speaking Cantonese is an added advantage.
