Job Description

Overview:

As an Apps DBA / Data Platform Support, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration, monitoring, and support of enterprise applications and data platforms, including ERP, Cognos, SQL Server, and MES systems. The role ensures high availability, system reliability, and operational continuity across production and non-production environments.

You will manage environment maintenance, change and release deployments, and incident resolution, while supporting critical platforms such as Oracle Fusion, ADW, ATP, and ODI. They will play a key role in maintaining system performance, security, and compliance, including vulnerability patching, DR readiness, and audit support (SOX/ITGC).

This role also requires collaboration across IT, business, and external partners to ensure seamless operations, timely issue resolution, and support for ongoing transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption and data migration programs.

Responsibilities:

Environment Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Perform 24/7 PROD monitoring for ERP, Cognos, SQL Server, and MES systems to ensure high availability.
  • Execute regular Weekend Maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and system health checks.
  • Perform Cloning of Non-PROD instances from production environments for development and testing.
  • Perform DR activity for both ERP and Cognos Production databases and applications.
  • Renew SSL certificates for all business-critical applications.
  • Should have Database Upgrade experience in both Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Apply Vulnerability Patching for ERP applications.
  • Apex, Excel4apps, OCI, OIC, Data Migration experience would be an advantage.

Change & Release Management

  • CR (Change Request) migrations for ERP, ADW, and Cognos across both Non-PROD and Production instances.
  • Manage SVN Branching, including branch creation and merging across environments to support development pipelines.
  • Handle specialized requests for SQL Server, DLP, and SG MES (including WebLogic configurations).

Support & Incident Management

  • Provide Tier 2/3 Incident Management and troubleshooting for complex system failures.
  • Manage and resolve Service Tickets for PROD environments involving ERP, Cognos, MES, and SQL Server.
  • Offer specialized support for ADW (Autonomous Data Warehouse), ODI (Oracle Data Integrator), ATP (Autonomous Transaction Processing), and Oracle Fusion.
  • Compliance & SecuritySupport Internal Audits specifically for Cognos and Oracle database environments.
  • Ensure all database activities comply with corporate security standards and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) policies.
  • As per SOX compliance passwords must be changed on a Quarterly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills Required:

  • ERP Systems: Experience with Oracle ERP/Fusion and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
  • Databases: Proficiency in Oracle (ATP/ADW), SQL Server, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
  • Middleware: Hands-on experience with WebLogic and Cognos.
  • Version Control: Skilled in SVN (Subversion) for code and branch management.
  • Operating Systems: Familiarity with Linux/Windows environments supporting these applications.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years of more experience as Oracle ERP Apps DBA
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams in transformation driven environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership through ownership, accountability, and influence.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork across cross functional and global teams.
  • Innovative, continuous improvement mindset with focus on automation, optimization, and modernization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
