We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design, coordination, and documentation for building services projects. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, experience working with multidisciplinary and global teams, and the ability to mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
- Develop and review electrical designs, calculations, drawings, and schedules for power, lighting, emergency, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
- Ensure all design deliverables meet international standards and project specifications.
- Oversee BIM modelling and documentation, ensuring coordinated and accurate outputs in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
Coordination
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, structural, architectural, BIM) across different locations and time zones.
- Participate in design coordination meetings, technical workshops, and discussions with global project counterparts.
- Support Principal Engineers during client and consultant coordination by providing technical analysis and inputs.
Mentorship & Support
- Provide guidance, review, and technical mentorship to junior engineers and BIM modellers.
- Share knowledge of electrical design standards, best practices, and international codes.
- Assist in implementing QA/QC processes to ensure consistent, highquality deliverables.
Contribution to Innovation
- Promote the use of sustainable design practices and smart building technologies where applicable.
- Recommend improvements to workflows, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Must be a Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
Experience
- 57 years of professional experience in electrical building services design.
- Proven ability to independently manage electrical design packages within consultancy or engineering projects.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary and international project teams.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD; able to support and review BIM outputs.
- Strong understanding of electrical system design (power, lighting, emergency, grounding, low-voltage).
- Familiarity with software such as ETAP, Dialux, or similar electrical analysis tools.
- Knowledge of international standards and codes including IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, NEC, etc.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in team environments.
Desirable (Not Required)
- Experience in international projects or exposure to global design standards.
- Familiarity with LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark, or other green building certifications.
- Interest in progressing toward a Principal or Lead Engineer career path.
