The Senior EHS & Sustainability Engineer is responsible for leading the site's environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and health and safety programs while serving as a key partner to the Global EHS team. This role drives environmental stewardship, sustainability performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives that align local operations with global EHS strategies and corporate sustainability objectives.

The position collaborates closely with global and regional EHS leaders to implement company-wide programs, monitor environmental performance, support sustainability reporting, and ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate standards. The role also serves as the primary contact for environmental audits, regulatory inspections, and sustainability-related projects at the site.

About the Job

  • Lead the development and execution of environmental and sustainability programs aligned with global EHS strategies and corporate sustainability goals.
  • Partner closely with the Global EHS team to deploy and standardize environmental, sustainability, and safety initiatives across the site.
  • Support corporate sustainability objectives through projects focused on waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, emissions reduction, and resource optimization.
  • Analyze environmental, health, safety, and sustainability data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor environmental performance metrics and contribute to global sustainability reporting and ESG initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, permits, and company standards.
  • Monitor emerging environmental regulations and sustainability requirements and lead implementation plans to maintain compliance.
  • Coordinate and support internal audits, external audits, customer audits, and government agency inspections.
  • Lead environmental risk assessments and corrective action programs to improve site performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, facilities, and global EHS teams to integrate sustainable practices into operations and future projects.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned across sites and support global EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver environmental and sustainability awareness programs to strengthen employee engagement and accountability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), with strong emphasis on environmental compliance and sustainability programs.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance management systems, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Experience working with global or multinational EHS organizations and supporting company-wide initiatives.
  • Experience in sustainability reporting, ESG programs, carbon reduction initiatives, or environmental management systems is highly desirable.
  • Safety Officer 4 certification required.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and geographic regions.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to both local and global leadership teams.
