About the Role & Team
IDC Philippines is seeking an experienced Senior Editor (English) to join its global publishing team. This role is responsible for advanced proofreading, substantive editing, and quality assurance of research reports produced by analysts worldwide. The Senior Editor acts as a key quality gatekeeper, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in line with IDC's editorial and publishing standards. The ideal candidate has strong editorial expertise, familiarity with business and technology content, and the ability to collaborate effectively across regions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform in-depth editing and proofreading of global market research studies, presentations, white papers, and related materials, ensuring excellence in grammar, clarity, structure, consistency, and readability
- Ensure strict adherence to IDC's editorial standards, style guidelines, research architecture, and publishing requirements
- Act as a final quality gate for complex, high-impact, or time-sensitive research deliverables
- Collaborate closely with analysts, editors, production teams, and graphic designers around the globe to ensure timely high-quality publication
- Review and validate the use of business, technology, and market terminology, as well as data interpretations, to enhance clarity for professional and executive audiences
- Provide clear, constructive, and authoritative editorial feedback to analysts to improve writing quality, structure, flow, and tone
- Prioritize and manage workloads based on research schedules, project timelines, and business priorities, ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure adherence to IDC quality standards, including the appropriate use of relevant AI tools
- Support and mentor junior and associate editors through document review, feedback, and knowledge sharing
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and PowerPoint) to a high degree of proficiency
- Employ AIpowered grammar and writing assistance tools (e.g., Grammarly), structured editorial workflows, and content management systems (CMS)
What You Bring
- Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field or the equivalent professional experience
- Experience: Extensive professional experience (typically, at least seven years) in editing/copyediting, preferably in a business, technology, consulting, market research, or technology journalism environment; senior-level editorial experience strongly preferred
- Language Skills: An exceptional command of written U.S. English (native proficiency); ability to edit U.K. English a strong advantage; proven experience in editing data-intensive and analytical content
- Subject-Matter Expertise: Strong familiarity with technology and business concepts, including IT-related topics such as cloud computing, IoT, data analytics, AI, cybersecurity, and software and how such markets are developing
- Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and PowerPoint); familiarity with AIpowered grammar and writing assistance tools (e.g., Grammarly), structured editorial workflows, and content management systems (CMS)
- Work Style: Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and incorporate feedback from diverse stakeholders
- Collaboration: Ability to work with teams around the globe, with strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Leadership: Experience reviewing the work of other editors, providing guidance, and acting as an editorial reference point highly desirable
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the Philippines (no visa sponsorship available for this position)
