Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

1. Develops the masterplan and/or conceptual studies of the land acquisition projects and retail projects in development, especially during the feasibility stage.

2. Responsible in ensuring overall design intent of the project, as established by the project team, is incorporated into a plan/documentation, which is the basis for design implementation.

3. Produces the design plans and oversees the design process from conceptual phase to construction implementation, ensuring that the design intent is consistent, within schedule, within budget and properly executed.

4. Provides technical support to the project team and develops conceptual studies and resolve design conflicts at any given period within the planning stage, as needed.

5. Ensures that all IDG personnel comply with the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of Ayala Malls Group at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinates with the project team to determine the project requirements.

2. Translates the project requirements into design and prepares conceptual design studies during feasibility and project conceptualization stage.

3. In collaboration with the project team, drafts the project brief and terms of reference for the engagement of all the consultants.

4. In coordination with the project team, determines the total planning budget and secures the planning money approval from top management.

5. Responsible for securing the approval to engage all architectural and specialty design consultants on time. Monitors and ensures payments to all consultants are up-to-date.

6. Conducts the design coordination meetings (DCM) to ensure all project requirements are coordinated between the architectural, specialty design trades and engineering consultants and provides minutes of the DCM meetings to document the discussions.

7. Monitors and reviews the quality and completeness of plans/details from the consultants are aligned to the project requirements, compliant to code and the AMG standards and ensures all drawings are delivered on time.

8. Attends internal project team meetings and coordinates with the project team to continuously align requirements, resolve project issues and monitor status of project from planning to project completion and opening.

9. Performs additional in-house design studies, as needed.

10. Required to produce design presentation materials including perspectives and material board/finishes during concept and schematic design stage to secure the formal approval of the project from top management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Architect.
  • Minimum of six (6) years related work experience in retail design and planning for property developments.
  • Expert in the use of CAD/Rivet/Archicad, and other rendering software, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, and MS Office applications specifically MS Word, Powerpoint and MS Excel.
  • Versed in local building codes and international standards in design and construction industry.
  • Above average proficiency level of communication (oral and written) and creative thinking skills.
  • Can deal and handle highly complex problems and tasks involving new or constantly changing problems or situations.
  • Above average proficiency level of people management, leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the process of producing plans during various design phases like conceptualization, schematic, design development, and construction execution.
