About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will serve as a trusted analytics expert for Visa's clients. You will design, develop, and implement data-driven solutions, transform large datasets into actionable insights, and support strategic decision-making through advanced modeling and visualization.
This role is part of the Philippines-based VCA Implementation Services team and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a data science expert supporting Visa clients
- Design, develop, and implement advanced analytics solutions
- Analyze, clean, and visualize large and complex datasets
- Extract and manipulate large volumes of structured and unstructured data
- Develop and validate predictive and machine learning models
- Create impactful visualizations, dashboards, and storyboards
- Perform client-specific portfolio and business analysis
- Document projects, models, and code thoroughly
- Optimize and enhance codes for business-critical processes
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
- Lead knowledge transfer and support solution implementation
- Communicate analytical insights clearly to stakeholders
Must-Have Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in data science or analytics
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science/IT, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, Python, SAS, and SQL
- Strong background in statistical modeling (Regression, Clustering, Classification)
- Experience building machine learning models (e.g., Random Forest, SVM)
- Proficiency in Tableau and Power BI
- Experience managing analytics projects
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Strong sense of ownership and delivery accountability
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
Good-to-Have
- Experience working with large-scale financial or transactional data
- Background in consulting or client-facing analytics roles
- Experience building automated analytics pipelines
- Exposure to unstructured data processing
