Senior Data Scientist

Role Overview:

About the Role: We seek a talented Data Scientist to join our Email Security team and help build cutting-edge solutions to detect and mitigate email-borne threats such as phishing, vishing, business email compromise (BEC), malicious attachments, etc. This role will be instrumental in developing data-driven models that enhance our ability to detect sophisticated attacks, improve automation, and proactively safeguard our customers.

About the Role:

• Design, develop, and implement data-driven models to detect and prevent email-based security threats.
• Analyze large datasets of email communications to identify patterns, anomalies, and emerging threats.
• Leverage behavioral pattern detection techniques to identify suspicious email activities and attack vectors.
• Collaborate with security researchers, engineers, and threat intelligence teams to improve detection capabilities and reduce false positives.
• Monitor, evaluate, and refine models to maintain high detection efficacy and adapt to evolving threats.
• Develop and optimize feature extraction techniques tailored to identifying malicious emails, attachments, and URLs.
• Work closely with software engineering teams to integrate data models into production systems.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, providing insights based on data analysis findings and contributing to proactive defense strategies.
• Maintain and enhance data pipelines for training, deploying, and monitoring analytical models.
• Stay current with advancements in data science, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity to continuously improve detection methodologies.

About You:

• Total 10+year's experience in software development with 5+ years of strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data science libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• 5+ years of experience working with large-scale datasets and data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, or SQL-based databases).
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying AI-driven models, with expertise in anomaly detection, NLP, and behavioral analysis.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning or adversarial data science techniques applied to cybersecurity.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps tools for model deployment and monitoring.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate security challenges into data science solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in cybersecurity or working with threat intelligence teams.
• Knowledge of advanced NLP techniques for analyzing email content and metadata.
• Understanding of email security threats, including phishing, BEC, and malware distribution tactics.
• Familiarity with email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, MIME) and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Contributions to open-source cybersecurity or data science projects.
• Excellent inter-personal and teamwork skills
