Position Overview
As Senior Data Engineer or MDM Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you'll be responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) ecosystem built on Informatica IDMC (SaaS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your role bridges the domains of MDM development and data operations — combining engineering excellence with proactive reliability management to deliver trusted, high-quality master data that fuels analytics and business insights across the company.
You'll work collaboratively in a cross-functional, agile environment, partnering with data engineers, SREs, architects, and business stakeholders to design, monitor, and optimize data pipelines and MDM processes supporting key domains like customer, finance, and marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and optimize MDM SaaS jobs, Informatica IDMC workflows, Control-M, and GCP data pipelines for performance and reliability.
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native data integration pipelines, supporting both batch and real-time flows using Dataflow, NiFi, Composer, Pub/Sub, and Datastream.
- Support MDM configurations in Informatica IDMC, including Customer 360, Business Entities, match/merge logic, trust and validation rules, and data quality profiling.
- Implement proactive SLA-based monitoring and automation to prevent incidents and reduce manual intervention.
- Conduct performance tuning, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews, driving continuous reliability and process improvements.
- Collaborate with developers and data consumers to translate business and data quality requirements into resilient, automated technical solutions.
- Automate maintenance, deployment, and recovery processes using Python, Shell scripting, or Terraform, integrating with CI/CD pipelines (Git-based).
- Develop and maintain clear technical documentation for pipelines, workflows, and operational runbooks.
- Stay current with cloud-native MDM, DevOps/DataOps, and data governance trends to enhance the overall maturity of the ecosystem.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, DataOps, or production support for large-scale data or MDM platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC (Cloud MDM SaaS) or equivalent SaaS MDM platform.
- Familiarity with Customer 360, Business Entity Services, and MDM process design (match, merge, trust frameworks).
- Strong Python and SQL skills for automation, data processing, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with GCP services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Datastream, Composer, and Dataplex.
- Experience with ETL and orchestration tools, e.g., NiFi, Informatica Cloud Data Integration (CDI/IICS).
- Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and monitoring frameworks; experience using Terraform, Git, Cloud Monitoring, and Alerting solutions.
- Familiarity with API development and integration (REST, JSON, Node.js, Postman).
- Working knowledge of data quality, governance, and lineage tracking (IDMC Data Quality, Axon, or equivalent).
- Excellent troubleshooting, performance tuning, and communication abilities.
- A continuous improvement mindset with passion for automation, operational excellence, and data reliability.
- Availability for 24x7 rotational shifts, with strong incident response discipline.
Good to Have Skills:
- GCP Professional Data Engineer or Informatica IDMC / Customer 360 certification.
- Experience applying DataOps or SRE principles to data ecosystems.
- Working knowledge of TMF (TeleManagement Forum) standards or reference models.
- Experience scripting for observability and metrics collection (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Exposure to metadata and lineage management in enterprise environments.
