Job Description
Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Remote, anywhere in India
Exp: 5-7 Years
Domain: FinTech · Dental SaaS
Working hours: IST, Overlap of 4 hours with UK 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM IST
Notice period: Immediate Joiners
Client is a UK multi-tenant financial and operational intelligence platform for dentalgroups. Clients use it for board packs, dashboards, Excel reporting, reconciliation andfinancial automation.
DenPay, pay and reconciliation module, handles clinician pay, NHS/Private/Planincome, deductions, month-end controls and Xero posting.
The platform runs on Azure. It ingests data from dental practice management systems,Compass and Xero into a Bronze/Silver/canonical PostgreSQL model. Client supports around 150 dental sites today and is scaling towards 2,000.
The role
This role adds engineering capacity to our senior UK Data Engineer so we can onboard new dental groups faster and strengthen the data layer. The senior engineer owns the architecture and sets direction and standards; you take on hands-ononboarding and engineering tasks and build up ownership over time.
You will work across source ingestion, Bronze/Silver/canonical PostgreSQL models, reconciliation, and the business-ready datasets behind dashboards, Excel reporting,DenPay and future AI agents.
Our mandate: data that is complete, correctly mapped, reconciled, fresh, traceable, scalable, and safe to publish.
Core principle
A pipeline completing is not the same as data being trusted. A dataset is publishable only when expected data arrived, freshness passed, mapping passed, quality checks passed, and source reconciled to target. You should instinctively ask: did all the data arrive, was itmapped correctly, did it reconcile to source, and is it safe for the client to see
Key responsibilities
Client onboarding
- Connect new dental groups sources (SOE, Dentally, SFD, CareStack, Compass andXero) to the platform.
- Map, cleanse and validate each client's historical data before go-live.
- Configure tenants, chart-of-accounts mappings and site hierarchies.
- Reconcile loaded data to source and document any variances before data reaches the client.
Data engineering (with the senior engineer)
- Ingestion pipelines for SOE, Dentally, SFD, CareStack, Compass and Xero.
- Bronze / Silver / canonical (Gold) architecture that is metadata-driven and reusable,not per-client hard-coded.
- Canonical mapping that resolves source identifiers into WorkFin identities acrosstenant, legal entity, practice, provider, clinician, contract, Xero organisation, trackingcategory and reporting period.
- Business-ready datasets for EBITDA and Journal 2, clinician production and providertime, NHS activity (UDA/UOA), Private and Plan income, cash flow, and DenPaycalculations.
- Data completeness and reconciliation control layer: automated checks for arrival, freshness, row counts, source-to-target and financial-total reconciliation, duplicates, nulls, schema drift, and unmapped practices or clinicians.
- Internal data control dashboard with Green/Amber/Red status and drill-down fromClient to Practice to Source to Dataset to Pipeline Run to Exception.
Ways of working
- Take tasks from the senior UK Data Engineer, report progress daily and flag blockersearly.
- Document pipelines, mappings and onboarding steps clearly.
- Use Git and follow agreed code review, CI/CD and release practices.
