About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to deliver high-impact reporting solutions supporting Finance, Claims, and Underwriting teams. You will work on executive BI reports, regulatory/statistical data calls, and ad-hoc reporting needs, leveraging modern cloud data technologies.
What Success Looks Like- Backlog of business and statistical reporting datasets sourced, modeled, and documented from our Data Lake.
- Enterprise data dictionary created and actively used, with all tables, columns, join keys, and domain details defined.
- Consistent delivery of ad-hoc reporting requests with accuracy and speed.
Key Responsibilities- Write and optimize SQL for reporting datasets using AWS Athena/Redshift.
- Model data across policy, claims, billing, and commissions with proper joins and keys.
- Build and maintain the enterprise data dictionary and data lineage documentation.
- Develop BI dashboards and visuals using AWS QuickSight or Power BI.
- Validate reporting outputs through sampling and reconciliation to source systems.
- Document assumptions, edge cases, and maintain runbooks for repeatability.
Required Experience- 8+ years building analytics datasets with SQL.
- Deep Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance data expertise (policy, claims, billing, commissions).
- Proven track record delivering regulatory/statistical and business reporting in production environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS data stack (Athena, Redshift) or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Strong data modeling skills (star/snowflake schemas, normalization, partitioning).
- Excellent documentation skills (data dictionaries, mapping specs, runbooks).
- Experience delivering complex BI dashboards using QuickSight, Power BI, or Tableau.
Nice to Have- Familiarity with Majesco Client/Claims data.
- Experience with parameterized BI datasets.
- Python for validation and automation tasks.
