Senior Data Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take a leading role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based data platform. You'll drive technical standards, mentor junior engineers, and be a key player in a major cloud data warehouse migration.

Minimum qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines on AWS (e.g., Glue, Kinesis, Lambda, SNS)
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python or Scala
• Experience with cloud data warehouses; prior work with Snowflake is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead or participate in a data migration or platform modernization project
• Strong understanding of data architecture principles, including batch and event-driven ingestion patterns
• Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring junior or mid-level engineers
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with architecture and product teams

What you'll do:

• Lead the design and development of complex data pipelines across batch, event-driven, API, and file-based ingestion patterns
• Define and enforce pipeline architecture standards, coding conventions, and engineering best practices
• Own production incident response and lead root cause analysis and resolution for the data platform
• Lead technical planning and execution of a Snowflake migration, including schema conversion, data migration strategy, and cutover planning
• Review code from mid and junior engineers to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with platform standards
• Collaborate closely with the Data Architect to translate data requirements into scalable engineering solutions
