Murphy, Murphy & Murphy is seeking a highly skilled finance leader to join our team! Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this Philippinebased position is responsible for managing the US firm's daily financial operations while ensuring full alignment with U.S. business standards and accounting practices. This role supports a U.S.-based professional services environment and requires deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, U.S. financial reporting, and U.S. operational requirements.
The position is accountable for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, supporting schedules, KPIs, and operational analyses. It oversees the company's financial plans and policies, ensures proper accounting practices, and safeguards the firm's fiscal records and assets.
This role plays a key leadership function in strengthening internal controls, driving automation initiatives, and overseeing budgeting, cash management, forecasting, costbenefit analysis, and job costing. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, analytical excellence, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across both the U.S. and the Philippines. Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and experience with U.S. taxrelated workflows are essential.
Work Schedule: 6:30am 3:30pm Tuesday to Saturdays (Philippine Time)
Willing to work overtime when needed
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations and Management
- Oversee daily cash flow, including preparing rolling cash projections and determining vendor payments.
- Prepare and review daily deposit reports , and drive proactive AR collection strategies, including outsourcing.
- Prepare and review the semimonthly Employee Utilization Report.
- Approve company credit card usage and ensure proper QuickBooks coding, receipt matching, and partner approval of personal charges.
- Manage and review accruals, prepaids, and vendor billings, including expense-to-budget analysis and ongoing cash forecasting.
- Reconcile all bank accounts and replenish petty cash as needed.
- Develop and maintain a Purchase Order system aligned with budget.
- Utilize strong knowledge of QuickBooks class accounting.
- Prepare MMM, MHS & MFS monthly closings and maintain fixed asset schedules including depreciation.
- Analyze monthly financial results and prepare financial reports for the CFO.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls.
- Provide ongoing financial and accounting guidance to leadership.
- Participate in company committees as required.
Transactions / General Ledger
- Prepares and reviews IT budget and management of company assets (Cap X budget)
- Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations are completed and accurately booked.
- Ensures that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Prepares month end journal entries and posts accurately.
- Maintains the chart of accounts
- Maintains an orderly secure accounting filing and scanning system and maintains archived records as required by government regulations.
- Maintains a system of controls over accounting transaction
Budgeting, Forecasting & Firm Analytics
- Lead or support the annual firm budget and rolling forecasts
- Analyze firm profitability by service line, office, or partner
- Provide insights into staffing economics, pricing, and margin performance
- Support strategic planning with financial modeling and scenario analysis
Compliance
- Complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
- Manages, updates Firm Calendar and renews the Firm's professional business licenses, subscriptions, tax software, Insurance Coverage & Policies, contract annual workers compensation audit, 571-L, Filing 5500.
- Manages any other affiliated audits (e.g., EDD, FTB and IRS, etc.)
Partner & Leadership Support
- Prepare partner compensation, capital account, and distribution reporting
- Support partner meetings with financial analysis and dashboards
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners on firm financial performance
- Respond to ad hoc financial inquiries from leadership
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Own and optimize firm accounting and practice management systems
- Improve close timelines, reporting accuracy, and data visibility
- Design and maintain internal controls to safeguard firm assets
- Lead automation and efficiency initiatives across finance operations
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop accounting and billing staff
- Establish clear expectations, workflows, and accountability
- Ensure continuity and documentation of firm financial processes
Administrative
- Provides Partners with necessary documents needed for their personal and other business requirements (e.g., personal and business bank loans)
- Maintain business relationship with banks, key vendors to support a smooth operation of the business and for future growth of the firm.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a CPA firm, law firm, or professional services organization, with exposure to U.S. accounting standards and workflows.
- Strong experience with professional time & billing systems used in servicebased firms.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), and database or financial management software.
- Handson experience with U.S. business and individual income tax preparation, including understanding the endtoend tax preparation process.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and applicable program regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience using general office software, including QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and database tools, for daily accounting operations and reporting.
