Your Role
As a
Senior Corporate Accountant, you will:
- Coordinate and execute monthly financial close deliverables, performing analytical reviews and maintaining strict documentation standards.
- Prepare and audit complex schedules and reporting packages for MasTec Corporate to ensure total alignment with corporate accounting policies.
- Act as the lead point of contact for internal and external auditors, managing walkthroughs and preparing all necessary reconciliation tie-outs.
- Manage the lifecycle of internal controls, including the design, execution, and continuous monitoring of SOX-relevant and management review controls.
- Analyze existing accounting workflows to identify inefficiencies or control gaps, implementing automation initiatives to increase reporting speed and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and accounting policies to ensure organizational consistency.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Accounting, FP&A, IT, and Compliance to streamline corporate initiatives and special projects.
- Provide technical explanations of accounting treatments and provide ad-hoc analytical support to accounting leadership as required.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Advanced Financial Close Experience: Proven track record of managing deliverables within tight monthly and annual close timelines.
- Audit & SOX Proficiency: Deep experience with internal/external audit coordination and the documentation of Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls.
- Corporate Reporting Standards: Demonstrated ability to prepare reporting packages that meet the rigorous accuracy and completeness standards of a large corporate entity.
- Analytical Problem Solving: High level of skill in performing reconciliation tie-outs and identifying discrepancies in complex financial data.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and addressing high-level audit inquiries.
Preferred Skills/expertise
- Prior experience working within or supporting a MasTec Corporate subsidiary or a similar large-scale publicly traded company.
- Strong background in process automation and identifying software-driven solutions for accounting inefficiencies.
- Expertise in developing and documenting comprehensive accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
- Relevant professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CMA is highly regarded.
- Experience with enterprise-level ERP systems and advanced data visualization or analytical tools.
