We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our team in the Philippines on a full-time basis. The candidate will play a central role in managing key client relationships, advising clients, engaging directly with government stakeholders, shaping policy strategies, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-impact work. The candidate must be an adept analytical and strategic thinker,with well-honed skills in synthesizing complex information, drawing conclusions, and translating them into action. Developing government affairs strategies and clearly communicating plans of action to clients will be part of your daily work.
POSITION DETAILS
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, in Makati City, Philippines.
- Should be willing to travel for work if necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Advisory and Service Delivery
- Demonstrate sectoral expertise and directly advise clients on government affairs strategies, political developments, and stakeholder dynamics
- Lead the development of high quality deliverables for an executive audience, including analytical reports, presentations, and advocacy papers.
- Lead government and industry stakeholder engagement.
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with other key stakeholders to inform project work.
- Develop project strategies and execution plans aligned with client objectives.
Client and Project Management
- Develop a strong understanding of client businesses, operating environments and policy needs.
- Oversee and review the work of junior consultants across a variety of projects and sectors, and delegate tasks effectively.
- Manage day to day project delivery, including work planning and coordination of project teams.
- Monitor project progress; identify and manage project risks.
- Ensure all deliverables are up to firm standards.
Business and Team Development
- Lead business development meetings, and develop proposals, presentations, briefing notes.
- Grow and maintain professional relationships with government, industry, and civil society stakeholders.
- Expand sector-specific public and private networks to support client and firm objectives.
- Train and build capacity of junior consultants.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Philippine national, with excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Filipino.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant work experience preferably in an in-house government affairs or public policy role, Philippine Legislative office or Executive agency, public affairs or communications, consulting, journalism, or think tanks.
- Experience working in an in-house government affairs role and with the Philippine government (e.g., executive branch agencies, Congress, or regulatory bodies) is strongly preferred.
- Strong industry and government network, and excellent knowledge and understanding of politics, and the function, structure, and protocols of the Philippine Legislature and Executive Agencies.
- Knowledge and interest in political and economic issues and developments in Philippines and Southeast Asia.
- Sector expertise in technology, banking and fintech, energy, sustainability, or healthcare is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural setting and in a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent academic background in a related field, preferably in economics, public policy, law, international relations, journalism. An advanced degree is a value-add.
