Senior Consultant Financial Services

The Senior Consultant – Financial Services is responsible for leading and supporting recurring and ad hoc risk consulting engagements in regulatory investigations and assurance, financial services compliance and risk management, internal audit, and corporate governance. The role requires strong technical expertise, communication, multitasking, and client relationship management skills to deliver high-quality client solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Management of the Forvis Mazars relationship with clients including high-quality service delivery and co-ordination of service offerings from other departments
• Growing your knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations of our clients
• Leading of assignments with clients in the following areas; regulatory submissions and investigations; corporate governance; FS compliance and risk management; internal control frameworks
• Reporting into the senior leadership, working towards the achievement of departmental goals and targets
• Working to deadlines and within budgets on each assignment
• Involvement as an ambassador in firm / department / practice development and marketing initiatives
• Managing and developing junior team members
• Write articles on regulatory topics which will be published on the Mazars website.

Qualifications:

• Qualification in accountancy or relevant industry qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, Compliance Institute, Institute of Internal Auditors, CIMA)
• A minimum of 3 years experience within risk and compliance consulting in a Financial Services environment.
• Good understanding of some risk and compliance regulatory areas (e.g. PSD, Consumer Protection Code, Investor Protection, Fitness and Probity etc)
• Demonstrated knowledge of challenges and developments within the banking industry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience of operational supervision of assignments and managing of client relationships
