About the Role:
The Senior Cloud Integration Developer will design, develop, and implement secure, scalable integration solutions leveraging AWS services to connect cloud-based applications with various vendor SaaS offerings and internal systems. This role emphasizes creating secure, high-performing, and compliant solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS cloud technologies, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable code. Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Execution
• Implement secure and scalable integration solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and EventBridge.
• Deliver projects on time by writing testable, repeatable, and optimized code that adheres to best practices.
• Mentor less experienced developers, ensuring adherence to company standards, including comprehensive documentation of development work.
• Ensure integration solutions meet industry security standards (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML) and AWS security best practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), KMS, and Secrets Manager.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application/solution issues, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Participate in security audits and incident response as required.
Continuous Improvement
• Evaluate and recommend AWS-native tools and services (e.g., CodePipeline, CloudFormation, CloudTrail) to enhance development processes and team efficiency.
• Stay up to date with advancements in AWS services and cloud development practices, driving the adoption of innovative solutions.
• Foster an environment of innovation, encouraging the team to explore AWS's latest capabilities, such as generative AI services, Amazon S3 Intelligent Tiering, or Athena for data-driven solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior developers on best practices in AWS development and integration.
Collaboration & Communication
• Collaborate with product management, software engineers, and vendors to clarify requirements and deliver AWS-based solutions that align with business needs.
• Actively participate in technical discussions, business planning, and vendor-related sessions.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on development progress, risks, and milestones.
• Represent the development team in Agile ceremonies, providing technical insights into development activities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of hands-on cloud integration development experience, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
• Proven track record of delivering secure, high-quality software solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in the insurance or financial industry is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Expertise in AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, and EC2.
• Proficient understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on detail.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior developers effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical and security concepts to various stakeholders.
Technical Skills
• Advanced programming skills in Python, C#, or Java with a focus on serverless architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and encryption techniques.
• Experience developing and securing RESTful APIs using AWS API Gateway and implementing API management best practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and Jenkins.
• Expertise in data formats like JSON and XML, with experience implementing AWS-native encryption and protection mechanisms.
