Senior Cassandra Database Engineer

YOUR ROLE

Senior Cassandra Database Engineer (Senior DBA) manages, secures, and optimizes enterprise database platforms to ensure high availability, integrity, and performance for business-critical applications

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO

• Design keyspaces, tables, partition keys, and clustering columns based on application query patterns.
• CQL (Cassandra Query Language) : Write commands to create, read, update, and delete data using CQL and cqlsh.
• Cluster Management: Manage replication, consistency levels, repairs, node additions/removals, and cluster maintenance.
• Query DSL : Perform full-text search, filtering, aggregations, and complex search queries using Elasticsearch APIs.
• Mapping & Indexing: Configure mappings, manage Elasticsearch indexes, and understand Cassandra-to-Elasticsearch data synchronization.

• Ecosystem Tooling: Connect and manage data streams using Kibana
• Investigate latency issues, tombstones, large partitions, compaction, and garbage collection. Use Grafana, Kibana, and
• OpenSearch Dashboards to monitor performance and investigate incidents.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree related to computer studies
• Minimum of 2 years experience in maintaining Cassandra NoSQL Database systems
• With experience of working with global enterprise environment
• With experience in deploying Cassandra 6.x infrastructure
• Kubernetes
• Intermediate Performance optimization skillset
• High availability and disaster recovery
• Good troubleshooting skills. Logical thinker and good analytical skills.
• Understanding of computer software, databases and programming
• Excellent written/spoken English language
• Able to work off own initiative. Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills. Able to own an issue and see it through to resolution
• Certificate is an advantage.
