About the Company
This is a fast-growing, U.S.-based company that has made a real, hands-on investment in using data and AI to run the business better — not as a buzzword, but as how decisions actually get made day to day. Right now, their data doesn't have a single owner. That's where you come in.
About the Role
This is a rare build it and own it seat: a blended Data Engineering + Business Intelligence role where you'll take end-to-end ownership of the data function — from the pipelines and cloud infrastructure underneath it, to the dashboards and insights leadership uses to make decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own the data pipelines and cloud infrastructure, built on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery at the core, plus supporting serverless and automation services)
- Write and maintain Python-based ETL processes that move, transform, and load data across multiple sources
- Build new pipelines, bring new data sources into the warehouse, and automate recurring workflows
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues to keep data flowing cleanly between systems
- Maintain data quality and organization across the analytics environment
- Own dashboard and reporting strategy in Tableau, working directly with stakeholders across the business — finance, sales, operations, and more
- Translate business questions into clear, decision-ready dashboards — then maintain and evolve them over time
- Manage data connections, SQL logic, refresh schedules, and QC on all reporting
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and make sure every dashboard reflects the true underlying data
- Help leadership actually understand what the data is telling them, not just look at it
- Bring real, hands-on AI fluency to the role — this team uses AI tools daily and is actively building a data environment that leans on automation and AI assistance instead of manual coding wherever possible
- Partner cross-functionally as the go-to person for what does the data say
- Join a growing Operations organization with a clear, direct reporting line into senior leadership
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a similar hybrid role
- Strong, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery
- Strong Python experience, specifically for building and maintaining ETL/data pipelines
- Strong SQL skills
- Strong Tableau experience — building dashboards from the ground up, not just editing existing ones
- Proven experience owning or maintaining a data/reporting environment end-to-end
- Experience troubleshooting data pipeline and reporting issues independently
- Solid understanding of how data moves and transforms across systems
- Genuine, active use of AI tools in your day-to-day data/BI workflow — this team is deep into AI adoption and looking for someone who already thinks this way
- Ability to work with solid overlap with core U.S. Eastern business hours during the initial onboarding period
Pay range and compensation package
$4,000–$6,500 USD/month, based on experience — this is a long-term, full-time engagement, not a short-term project.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with solid overlap with core U.S. Eastern business hours expected during the initial onboarding/ramp period; more schedule flexibility once you're fully ramped.
Fully remote — work from home.
Genuine ownership: you're not inheriting someone else's system, you're building and owning the data function from here forward.
Join a company that's leaning hard into AI as a working culture, not a buzzword — real budget and real appetite for tools that make data work smarter.
Backed by a growing, well-established U.S. company with real momentum and staying power.
