Overview
The Sr. BI Analyst is a more mature role in Data Analytics Office responsible for the most efficient collection, cleaning, storing, processing, analyzing, and visualizing data using tools and techniques to find trends, draw conclusions, provide dashboards, and make informed decisions, helping businesses and operating units optimize performance, improve efficiency, and gain a competitive edge by turning complex information into actionable insights.
The senior analyst is expected to provide basic leadership support for the team and cater to the data needs of higher management.
Functions
- Develop and manage special and/or customized reports and dashboards for higher management
- Deep dive into the drivers behind user behavior and operational metrics to provide insights and recommendations
- Define the requirements and technical specifications and deliver data and analytic use cases working collaboratively with other team members and clients
- Read trends and performance and translate this to business actionable items
- Help design and finalize the data pipeline with Big Data Team
- Support test and learn (data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting)
- Help the wider analytics team to optimize stakeholder requests through best practice processes and techniques (Tracking, Analysis, Modelling, Visualization and Insights generation)
- Help create and maintain the business data dictionary
- Tackle strategic challenges and provide actionable insights for the business via advanced analytical methods
Job Skills & Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Data Science or Economics.
- 5+ years work experience in a quantitative business environment
- 5+ years of hands-on reporting design and development experience using one or more tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Spotfire, MicroStrategy
- SQL / data preparation skills are essential
- Experience with large data sets, analysing data, extracting relevant information and producing actionable insights. Process mining experience would be an advantage
- Knowledge in programming languages such as Python, R, Java & VBA is an advantage
- Strong analytical skills with understanding of statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations
- Ability to communicate effectively with business partners, data engineers, data scientist and analysts
- Support test and learn (data collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting)
