The Sr. Business Development Officer is responsible for driving the growth and market presence of the companys products and programs. This position will oversee
key distribution and sales initiatives, foster strong partnerships, and lead the implementation of targeted programs to achieve national sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales and Distribution Management
- Lead and oversee the sales operations of affiliated dealers, distributors or
agencies to ensure national sales targets are consistently met or
exceeded.
- Analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop
strategic plans to expand print product distribution.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to Business Development
Officers and Distributors, Third Party Agents and Institutions.
- Newspaper Distribution Strategy
- Conduct territory assessments and develop strategies to optimize
distribution coverage and maximize reach.
- Oversee the expansion and improvement of newspaper distribution
networks.
- Sales Programs Leadership
- Design, implement, and monitor sales incentive programs, contests, and
promotions to drive sales growth and market share.
- Evaluate program performance and make strategic adjustments to
maximize effectiveness.
- Localized Marketing and Promotion
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute localized marketing
initiatives that support distribution objectives.
- Oversee the planning and execution of in-store promotions, events, and
partnerships to enhance product visibility.
- Partnering and Relationship Management
- Identify, recruit, and establish strong relationships with top-performing
local and regional distributors, third party agents and institutions.
- Mentor and support distributor and third party agent partners to develop
their networks and achieve shared business goals.
- Pricing and Returns Oversight
- Monitor product pricing to ensure alignment with company pricing
structures and market competitiveness.
- Lead the management of product returns, ensuring adherence to policies
and minimizing product waste.
- Support Collection Efforts
- Assist in collection efforts within the assigned territory
- Data and Market Intelligence Analysis
- Analyze sales and distribution data to inform strategic decisions and drive
continuous improvement.
- Provide regular reports and market intelligence to senior management.
- Gather insights on market conditions, competitor activities, and customer
needs.
- Use findings to inform product positioning and distribution strategies.
- Training and Leadership Development
- Train, mentor, and oversee Business Development Supervisors and other
team members, ensuring alignment with company standards and
performance goals.
- Identify development opportunities and provide coaching to elevate team
capabilities.
