Job Description

I. BASIC INFORMATION

POSITION: Senior Business Development Officer

GROUP: Business Group

UNIT: Service Development and Relationship Management Units

  • The Business Group serves as the primary point of contact for growing base of partners (banks and financial institutions) from contract execution, through successful switch integration and service activation, ensuring all contract terms are fulfilled.
  • In this role you will work with leadership to achieve partnership and sales goals while collaborating with stakeholders across business, operations, IT, governance and finance teams. The Senior Business Development Officer demands a strong analytical skill set to drive customer adoption, propose new business models, and forecast accurate deployment timelines. Success will require critical thinking, creativity, and excellent communication skills to execute the strategic direction and achieve corporate goals.

Ii. Key Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of successfully closing partnership deals between partners

Lead in all aspects of the partnerships, including leading technical, and product/pricing/business discussions and negotiations

Act As The Primary Point Of Contact For The Assigned Accounts And Own The Interface From Contract Execution Onwards (onboarding, Ongoing Account Management, And Long-term Retention/growth Of The Relationship And Revenue) With Emphasis On

  • Delivering impeccable customer service, including efficient acknowledgement and resolution of issues
  • Building relationships to identify requirements and managing expectations
  • Collecting, communicating, and championing customer feedback internally to influence and steer programmatic and technical development required to maintain and grow business and value of accounts
  • Ownership of forecast and revenue growth within assigned accounts

As the champion and owner of assigned accounts, identify and successfully communicate readiness levels, requirements, schedules, and risks to realize forecasted revenue on or ahead of schedule

Collaborate with cross-functional groups (business, operations, IT, governance, finance, etc.)

Assist with development of commercial, marketing, and business terms and materials, while staying up to date with internal technology, governance, and business teams

Meet revenue targets, always looking for opportunities to make an impact and always be closing

Identify and secure new partners directly. This requires the establishment of relationships with the key decision makers and influencers in the various organizations, understanding their current and future needs, and working to find the right products/services for them.

Identify opportunities for alternative go-to-market strategies and be able to defend them internally

Represent in various forums including industry conferences and events

Represent the Business Group at internal meetings, planning and technical discussions

Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations

III. QUALIFICATION

EDUCATION: College Graduate

A degree in a business or technical field is an advantage

Length Of Work Experience

More than 6 years of experience in a customer facing and business development role with fintech or banking knowledge

Iv. Knowledge And Experience

Significant knowledge and experience in the following:

Working in sales channels supporting and integrating banking or financial products and services into their platforms or product lines

Ability to manage execution of significant or complex contracts including initial onboarding, renegotiation of terms, schedules and the on-going relationship

Track record of demonstrating sound business judgement, evaluating alternatives, and making recommendations that were adopted and ultimately successful

Building long-term and successful customer relationships demonstrating empathy, active listening, and resiliency skills

Strong sales track record with the ability to consistently meet or exceed revenue targets

Demonstrated experience in researching, writing and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

Experience working with the BSP, BancNet or other industry regulatory bodies to implement complex technical projects or solutions

Experience managing multiple complex projects and delivering under tight deadlines and resource constraints
