We are looking for a
Senior Business Automation Engineer to design, develop, and optimise automation solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across Finance, Operations, and business functions. This role is responsible for business process automation, AI workflow development, systems integration, financial process automation, API development, and data automation while delivering measurable improvements in operational performance and reporting accuracy.
You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and business leaders to identify and prioritise automation opportunities
- Analyse existing business processes and recommend workflow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable business process automation solutions
- Evaluate and calculate the business impact, cost savings, and return on investment (ROI) of automation initiatives
- Continuously improve workflow performance, controls, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Design and build AI-powered workflows, automation frameworks, and intelligent business solutions
- Develop AI agents, assistants, reusable prompt libraries, templates, and workflow components
- Implement validation controls, quality assurance measures, and human-in-the-loop review processes for AI-generated outputs
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical business applications
- Automate financial reporting, data processing, account reconciliations, invoice matching, purchase order validation, cash receipt reconciliation, and exception reporting
- Develop solutions for analysing, transforming, cleansing, and consolidating large datasets
- Build and maintain integrations between internal and third-party business systems
- Develop API-based integrations connecting accounting, payroll, banking, inventory, ERP, POS, and operational platforms
- Design secure, scalable, and reliable data exchange processes
- Implement monitoring, logging, error handling, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation for automation solutions
- Develop advanced Excel, Power Query, and Python-based automation tools
- Automate recurring reports, data transformation workflows, and business intelligence processes
- Create reusable automation utilities, templates, and tools for Finance and Operations teams
- Produce technical documentation, workflow diagrams, training materials, and user guides
- Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Technology, and executive leadership teams to drive automation initiatives
Requirements
Who are we looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in automation, software development, systems integration, business process automation, or related disciplines
- Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Retail, Hospitality, Payroll, ERP, Multi-site Operations, Business Operations, or related industries
- Strong proficiency in Python development and automation
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication methods, and system integrations
- Knowledge of SQL, Git, data transformation, data cleansing, and reconciliation processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Query skills
- Experience developing automation solutions for reporting, financial processes, workflow management, and operational efficiency improvements
- Hands-on experience with at least two of the following technologies: OpenAI API, Anthropic API, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, N8N, Make.com, Zapier, Docker, Azure AI Services, AWS AI Services, OCR/Document AI Solutions, Power BI, or Tableau
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into scalable technical solutions
- Strong understanding of workflow design, process mapping, automation frameworks, and operational improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of AI workflow design, prompt engineering, AI agents, and intelligent automation solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisational, stakeholder management, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently while effectively partnering with cross-functional business teams
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on innovation, efficiency, continuous improvement, and measurable business outcomes
