Role: Senior Business Analyst

Role Overview
Regulators globally have an increasing expectation that firms have adequate systems and controls in place to mitigate against Record Keeping & Market Abuse Risk such as Insider Dealing, Market Manipulation and Dissemination.
Communication Surveillance and Mobile Capture capabilities are at the forefront of internal and external regulatory enquiries. We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support Communication Surveillance Tech Programme.
The Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in analysing business objectives, defining requirements, and translating them into clear, actionable deliverables for multidisciplinary technology and business teams.
Partnering with stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and compliance, the role ensures that system and process changes are well-defined, strategically aligned, and implemented effectively. This includes leading workshops, documenting requirements, evaluating impacts, supporting testing, and enabling successful delivery of complex technology and regulatory initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
. Analyse Compliance Surveillance and Record Keeping objectives and convert them into clear business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
. Lead and facilitate requirement-gathering sessions, process reviews, and definition workshops.
. Produce high-quality documentation including requirement specifications, process flows, and impact assessments.
. Collaborate with product, technology, and operational teams to ensure requirements are understood and deliverables align with business goals.
. Support development and QA teams through clarification of requirements, backlog refinement, and change management.
. Track project risks, dependencies, and issues, ensuring they are monitored and escalated appropriately.
. Participate in validation activities including testing, user acceptance support, and release readiness assessments.
. Ensure compliance with regulatory - in particularly the FCA's Market Abuse Regulation - operational, and technology standards across all change initiatives.
. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying optimisation opportunities across processes and technology solutions.

Experience / Competences
Essential

. Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Communications Surveillance and/or Record Keeping in the financial services or technology-driven environments.
. Strong understanding of leading market communication platforms and related capture systems such as Bloomberg. LSEG, ICE, Symphony, WhatsApp, WeCom, Smarsh, Global Relay, Behavox, etc.
. Strong capability to analyse, document, and communicate complex requirements clearly.
. Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
. Experience supporting the full project lifecycle, including backlog refinement and test support.
. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
. Experience working within agile or iterative delivery frameworks.

Desired
. Experience in capital markets domains such as equities, fixed income, or surveillance.
. Knowledge of regulatory, compliance or surveillance driven technology initiatives.
. Familiarity with trade/order life cycles, processing, pricing, or risk workflows within f inancial markets.
. Exposure to data-driven platforms and analytics tools.
. Ability to understand system architecture concepts and technical solution impacts.
. Experience coordinating with geographically distributed teams.
. Understanding of process modelling methods (e.g., BPMN) or structured documentation techniques.
. Awareness of agile tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and delivery metrics.
