Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst is a key contributor within Navitaire Digital Services, responsible for engaging with airline and rail customers to understand business goals, capture detailed requirements, and shape digital and data driven solutions. The role works closely with cross functional agile teams to translate customer needs into clear specifications for websites, mobile apps, kiosk applications, backend integration services, and other capabilities built on the Navitaire digital platform.
In addition to requirements definition, the Senior Business Analyst helps identify process improvements and solution options that enhance customer experience. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective customer and stakeholder management, and proactive leadership within an agile software development environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customer product owners and stakehoders to document and clarify business requirements and use cases.
- Function as the primary business analyst for one or more scrum team - this includes collaborating with the customer team and the Digital Services scrum team to prioritize and refine the product backlog, translate requirements into user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, facilitate sprint planning and sprint reviews, provide guidance on the product and sprint goals, manage and negotiate scope changes.
- Contribute to quality assurance efforts by reviewing relevant test cases and collaborating with quality assurance analysts.
- Perform product validation testing of completed user stories.
- Be a subject matter expert on customer journeys, business rules, and industry-specific processes.
- Identify and recommend improvements to customer processes and propose relevant solutions.
- Contribute to retrospectives and process improvements within the Scrum team to enhance delivery velocity and quality.
- Present functional demonstrations of Navitaire's digital platform and digital services assets for the purpose of pre-sales, RFP response, internal product presentation, knowledge transfers, and other similar events that will entail such demo.
- Support sales pursuits involving existing and prospective customers
- Contribute in training and assisting scrum/project teammates in various aspects of the work.
About The Ideal Candidate
- Must possess a University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar discipline.
- Prior experience (at least 5 years) in any of the following: Business/System Analysis, Software Quality Assurance, Software Development or other similar roles.
- Prior experience in supporting web app and/or mobile app projects as a Business Analyst or Product Owner.
- Proven ability to document and solve problems and issues effectively.
- Proven ability to write complex requirements documents
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Agile and experience working with cross-functional Agile teams.
- Comfortable in working directly with colleagues, stakeholders and customers from different cultures.
- Good command of the English language (verbal and written) and can confidently communicate with customers and stakeholders within a business setting.
- Capable of learning new things and quickly become proficient as the team's priorities change.
- Team player and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and multi-cultural environment.
- Have flexibility to occasionally attend early morning or evening calls (between 6:00am-8:00am or 8:00pm-11:00pm) when necessary to collaborate with US counterparts and to support a global customer base.
