Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Eastern Time, with a 30-minute break
Salary: $1,300 per month
Job Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to support a growing U.S.-based accounting firm. This role focuses on both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. The position is strictly focused on bookkeeping and accounting support and does not involve tax preparation.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment undergoing operational improvements and modernization. This is a long-term opportunity for someone dependable, adaptable, and capable of working with evolving systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Accounting
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
- Maintain general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Perform month-end and year-end close
- Handle accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Support data cleanup, historical catch-up, and system transitions
- Assist with ongoing and future migrations between QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, as needed
Client and Team Support
- Work closely with internal accounting staff while following established SOPs
- Communicate professionally with team members and, when necessary, clients
- Manage multiple entities and high-volume transactional environments
- Maintain accuracy while working under deadlines and during operational transitions
- Technology and Security
- Work through secure remote desktop and VPN environments
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and client data
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience for U.S.-based companies
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks Desktop
- Solid working experience with QuickBooks Online
- Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prior experience supporting CPA firms or accounting firms
- Excellent English communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
