Senior Backend Developer (PHP/Laravel) - Midshift

About the Role

Join a growing SaaS team building a next-generation booking platform used for transportation and accommodation services worldwide.

We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer / Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on experience in PHP/Laravel, backend development, and databases. You'll work on scalable applications, APIs, integrations, and backend systems while collaborating with a team building modern cloud-based solutions.

Location: BGC, Taguig

Work Set Up: Onsite for the first 30 days, then Hybrid (3 days onsite | 2 days WFH)

Schedule: Mid Shift | 11AM–8PM

What We're Looking For:

We're particularly interested in candidates who are backend-heavy and hands-on, with recent PHP/Laravel experience and strong foundations in SQL/database development.

If you've spent the majority of your recent career building backend systems rather than focusing primarily on frontend development, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using PHP/Laravel

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and third-party integrations

• Work extensively with SQL databases and backend data solutions

• Develop backend services and solutions using Python

• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system performance

• Work with AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Participate in code reviews and Agile development

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Recent hands-on experience with PHP/Laravel

• Strong backend development and database/SQL skills

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and third-party integrations

• Hands-on experience with Python for backend development, scripting, or services

• Working knowledge of React.js or modern frontend technologies

• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or cloud-based environments

• Knowledge of microservices and scalable applications

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Highly Preferred

• Experience in Airline, Travel Technology, Booking Platforms, Transportation, Hospitality, or GDS
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Strong experience in database optimization and performance tuning
• Experience with macOS development environment
