What you'll be doing:
The Senior Accountant (General Purpose Financial Reporting) will be involved in delivering statutory financial reporting and audit readiness support to a diverse range of large entities across various industries. This role provides exposure to clients in sectors such as Financial Services, Construction, Automotive Dealerships, Energy, and Healthcare, while supporting structured reporting projects and ensuring seamless delivery during critical financial reporting periods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance: Preparing financial reports that comply with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
- Communicating financial information: presenting financial reports to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner
- Client focus: meeting or exceeding promised delivery timeframes and service quality at all times, and by doing so raising our brand awareness and contributing to the growth of our business
- Gathering and compiling financial data: collecting relevant financial information from various sources within the organisation and or external to the organisation
- Supporting audits: assisting with the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions and reporting practices
- Workpaper preparation: prepare workpapers to support or year-end delivery, ensuring transactions are properly documented and supported with relevant evidence
- Continuous improvement: continuously reviewing and improving financial reporting processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness
Skills/Attributes Required:
- BS Accountancy graduate
- CPA preferred
- 4–5 years of external audit background
- Has experience in preparing General Purpose Financial Reports
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and standards, including tax effect accounting
- Experience in preparing complex financial reports and applying accounting standards
- Audit experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and dissect financial data
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Excellent numerical abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities to mentor and guide junior staff
- Ethical, professional, and accountable in all aspects of work
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends and regulations
