Job Description

As a Senior AU Auditor, your role involves managing a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring their timely delivery. You'll be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with the applicable Financial Reporting Framework for audit and assurance clients.

What do you need to succeed

• Fully qualified with CA ANZ or CPA accreditation.

Required knowledge:

• Established assurance/audit skills.
• Understanding of Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards.
• Broad commercial expertise and judgment.
• Strong internal and external stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Core experience:

• 4+ years in a similar external Audit role within the Public Practice Sector.
• Previous experience with Xero and CaseWare is highly desirable.

What awaits you in this role

Audit and Accounting Function:

• CA or CPA qualified with 4+ years external Audit experience.
• Utilize and comply with Pitcher Partners Global Focus audit methodology.
• Prepare and review Financial Statements in accordance with relevant frameworks.
• Apply understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Auditing Standards.
• Support audit process for smaller clients, identifying key risk areas and accounting matters.
• Undertake management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Support file set up, audit planning, and testing processes.
• Demonstrate proficiency in software packages like Xero and CaseWare.

Systems & Processes:

• Proficient with CaseWare, Xero, and other accounting software.
• Good working knowledge of the firm's business systems and processes.
• Ability to improve systems, procedures, and initiate corrective actions.

Client Care:

• Meet with and advise clients on personal and business matters.
• Display knowledge of client's business for an appropriate audit approach.
• Build a reputable brand with responsive, timely, quality advice, and service.

Business Excellence:

• Deliver on chargeable hours and monthly billing targets.
• Support complex/non-complex engagements for timely completion.
• Assist with non-audit engagements, including due diligence and advisory services.
• Monitor client WIP's and report to the Client Director.
• Prioritize tasks, manage simultaneous tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.

Leadership:

• Delegate tasks appropriately and review junior team members work.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise junior staff members.
• Set a high standard in the quality of work, client management, and align with PPSA Values.
