KBF is currently seeking an Experienced Associate or Senior Associate based in PHL specializing in Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits to execute audit engagements for defined contribution and defined benefit plans. This role will be responsible for planning and executing audits, ensuring compliance with ERISA, DOL, IRS, and AICPA standards, reviewing financial statements and Form 5500 filings, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.

In this role, the individual will support audit engagements by performing detailed audit procedures, including testing participant data, contributions, distributions, investments, and eligibility, as well as ensuring compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities also include reviewing workpapers, preparing financial statements and Form 5500-related schedules, identifying risks and control deficiencies, and communicating directly with clients, third-party administrators, trustees, and engagement leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in EBP audits, solid client relationship skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while supporting and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day activities of audit engagements and support the execution of a high-quality audit
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure efficient information flow from the client to the audit team
  • Track and support project deadlines to ensure delivery of work product based on client expectations and deadlines
  • Support audit team members on engagements by providing guidance, timely feedback, and assisting in reviewing audit documentation
  • Communicate with managers, partners, and team members about the status, timeline, issues, and progress of projects, tasks, and associated budgets
  • Stay current on changes within the profession and business environment
  • Participate in team recruiting, development, training, and retention efforts as a positive contributor
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of KBF methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 2-3+ years recent EBP Audit experience in public accounting and have obtained the title of Experienced Associate or Senior Associate or similar designation

  • Internal controls over plan operations
  • Participant eligibility testing
  • Payroll and census data testing
  • Contributions and distributions testing
  • Strong project management and client service skills
  • Exhibited technical proficiency in U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
  • Motivated and quick learner, with strong communications skills and demonstrated professionalism
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

This position is based in our BGC office, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 7 am to 4 pm (Philippine Time) and an onsite requirement of 2-3 days per week.
