Our client, a premier global professional services organization, is seeking an
Senior AP Specialist based in Makati City. This position provides operational oversight, technical leadership, and people management for the Accounts Payable (AP) team. Acting as an AP subject matter expert, the supervisor ensures accurate, tax-compliant invoice processing and disbursements while championing process improvements, robust internal controls, and cross-border stakeholder alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Financial Management
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the core SME for Accounts Payable, driving global standardized AP methodologies across internal business partners and external vendors.
- Disbursement Oversight: Manage daily team operations to ensure payables are accurately coded, properly authorized, recorded in the correct accounting period, tax-compliant, and settled within agreed terms.
- Controls & Process Improvement: Support leadership in maintaining internal controls, refining AP policies/workflows, and executing continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Office Coordination: Partner with international AP functions, regional stakeholders, and vendors to resolve complex billing inquiries and payment discrepancies.
People & Administrative Leadership
- Talent Lifecycle Management: Lead recruitment efforts (interviews, evaluations), oversee onboarding, and assess specialist skill development for regularization decisions.
- Performance Coaching: Conduct goal-setting, continuous performance reviews, and individual development plans to cultivate high team engagement and capability.
- Administrative Operations: Oversee team timekeeping, manage employee transitions, and act as the first-level escalation point for administrative and HR-related matters.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Tenure: 5–7 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or financial operations, with at least 1–3 years in a team lead, project, or supervisory role.
- Industry Context: Experience within a Shared Services / BPO center or professional legal services firm is considered a distinct advantage.
Technical & Systems Skills
- Software Competency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with enterprise legal/financial systems (e.g., Elite 3E or equivalent ERPs) is a plus.
- Project & Stakeholder Management: Strong project management acumen with verified experience collaborating directly with senior executive leadership.
