Your Role
As a
Senior KYC Analyst, you will lead complex customer due diligence reviews and provide subject-matter expertise in KYC and AML compliance. You will handle high-risk and escalated cases, mentor analysts, and ensure all KYC processes meet stringent regulatory and internal control standards.
Your Primary Responsibilities Include
- Due Diligence & File Review: Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk customers, including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and complex corporate structures. Review and approve KYC files completed by analysts to ensure quality and compliance.
- Risk Assessment & Investigations: Conduct in-depth risk assessments, including source of wealth/funds validation, and lead investigations into adverse media, sanctions, and reputational risk cases.
- Escalations & Recommendations: Serve as the main escalation point for complex or suspicious cases, recommending risk mitigation strategies and onboarding decisions.
- Leadership & Oversight: Coach and mentor KYC analysts and new joiners. Support team leaders and managers with workload planning, case prioritization, and participation in internal audits or compliance reviews.
- Process Improvement: Identify gaps and inefficiencies in KYC processes, supporting automation, digital onboarding, and KYC remediation projects.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Strong background and hands-on expertise in KYC, AML compliance, and CDD/EDD execution.
- Advanced risk analysis and sound judgment when evaluating high-risk profiles and complex corporate structures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively present finding and handle escalations.
- Strong investigative and documentation skills with high ethical standards and strict confidentiality.
- High degree of organizational skills to assist with case prioritization and meeting operational deadlines.
Preferred Skills/expertise
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities to coach junior analysts and new team members.
- Experience contributing to the development or enhancement of KYC policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with process improvement, automation tools, digital onboarding, or remediation projects.
