Job Description

The CSU Senior Accounting Specialist / Senior Finance Analyst is primarily responsible for performing tasks and procedures assigned by the CSU Manager/Head. The role ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with the Firm's quality standards and professional requirements.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

A. Engagement Management

1. Quality Assurance and Compliance Management

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Firm policies and the Business Process Solutions (BPS) Division's policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Update the BPS Outsourcing and Operations Manual, ensuring alignment with Firm policies and the Quality Management Manual.
  • Ensure compliance matters are properly addressed and escalated when necessary.
  • Review and ensure timely submission of all Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) reportorial requirements.
  • Perform and validate compliance checks in accordance with Firm and BPS policies.
  • Assist in preparations for audits, including ISAE Type II, internal audits, and client compliance audits.
  • Assist in reviewing client contracts to ensure alignment with the Firm's standard terms and conditions. Coordinate with relevant groups (e.g., Ethics and Independence Group, Technology Solutions Group, AML and Data Privacy Group).
  • Support investigations of operational incidents, data breaches, security incidents, and AML concerns, including root cause analysis and action planning.

2. Process Establishment and Improvements

  • Document policies, processes, and procedures; recommend improvements when necessary.
  • Manage documentation repositories such as Nexus Policy Center and BPS Knowledge Hub (KHub).

3. AI Adoption and Support

  • Utilize AI tools (e.g., Copilot, AI-enabled Excel, automation tools) to:
  • Improve reporting and data analysis
  • Support drafting of documentation, summaries, and insights
  • Assist in testing and deploying AI-driven solutions:
  • Participate in pilot initiatives (e.g., CSU AI projects, Copilot agents)
  • Validate outputs against business requirements
  • Maintain AI-related documentation, including process flows and validation checks.
  • Collaborate with operations teams on AI use cases and continuous improvement.
  • Promote responsible AI usage by ensuring outputs meet accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality standards.

4. Project Management

  • Perform tasks required to support unit initiatives and projects.

5. Training Management

  • Assist in preparing training plans.
  • Ensure applicable trainings are accredited with CPD units.
  • Maintain updated content in the BPS Knowledge Hub.

6. Ad Hoc Responsibilities

  • Support BPS units on critical matters as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on work progress and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Utilize job-related tools effectively.
  • Conduct and review Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs).
  • Adapt to new assignments and changing work requirements while maintaining ethical standards.
  • Recommend process improvements and adopt new approaches positively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

B. Relationship Management

  • Promote the Firm and BPS Division through high-quality service and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Participate in Firm and BPS activities (e.g., meetings, planning sessions, social events).
  • Maintain a proactive, positive, and can-do attitude.
  • Foster open communication and objective discussion of differing viewpoints.

C. People Management

  • Provide on-the-job training (e.g., working papers, deliverables preparation).
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to team members.
  • Deliver timely, constructive feedback on performance.
  • Lead coaching activities.
  • Participate in annual performance reviews.

D. Professional Development

  • Attend internal and external training programs.
  • Request and review Performance Appraisal Reports (PARs).
  • Develop and maintain an Individual Development Plan.
  • Engage in mentoring and coaching initiatives.

E. Administrative Functions

  • Comply with Firm and BPS administrative processes and policies.
  • Suggest improvements to internal processes where necessary.
  • Submit accurate and timely time reports.
  • Attend team meetings and huddles regularly.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all engagement-related information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Internal Audit, Accountancy, or any business-related course
  • CPA, CIA, or Certified in Cybersecurity (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in audit, process improvement, accounting, or payroll
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements is an advantage
  • At least one (1) year of experience in:
  • AI-driven process improvement or automation initiatives, or
  • Information security and risk management
  • Exposure to workflow automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and project management is an advantage
