Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Manager Accounting Division is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions of the non-life insurance company, ensuring full compliance with Insurance Commission (IC) financial reporting regulations, PFRS, BIR, and SEC requirements. The role ensures the accuracy of statutory submissions, financial statements, and internal controls while supporting management and regulatory decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, premiums and claims accounting, reinsurance accounting, payables, receivables, and fixed assets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of:
  • IC statutory financial statements and schedules, in coordination with Financial Compliance Division
  • Audited financial statements (PFRS-compliant)
  • BIR tax returns and compliance reports
  • SEC reportorial requirements
  • Oversee accounting treatment of non-life insurance transactions, including:
  • Premium recognition and unearned premium reserves (UPR)
  • Loss reserves, IBNR, and claims provisions
  • Reinsurance (ceded and assumed) accounting
  • Maintain strong internal controls over underwriting, claims, treasury, and investment transactions.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, actuaries, regulators, Financial Compliance team and internal audit.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, solvency monitoring, and management reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounting Division team.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Philippines preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy; Master's degree is an advantage.
  • With at least a managerial role.
  • Strong experience in non-life insurance accounting and IC regulatory reporting preferred but not required.
  • Solid knowledge of PFRS, insurance-specific accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and coordination skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict regulatory deadlines.
