A senior accounting analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity of a company's financial
records and ensuring compliance with GAAP, government policies, and internal controls.
Core duties include:
1. Financial Reporting & Close Support- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Investigate unusual variances and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to generally-accepted accounting principles and accounting standards
2. Balance Sheet Integrity- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts
- Investigate unusual variances and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all reconciliations
3. Financial Analysis- Conduct detailed analysis of profit and loss accounts
- Provide margin, cost and usage analyses
- Develop insights to help management understand business drivers of performance
4. Accounting Systems & Data Integrity- Maintain integrity of financial master data
- Assist in implementation of automation initiatives (e.g., system integrations)
5. Process Improvement & Controls- Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and recommend improvements
- Strengthen internal controls around financial transactions
- Participate in system enhancements and finance transformation initiatives
6. Audit & Compliance- Support internal and external audits through provision of audit schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Assist in implementation of audit recommendations
7. Projects- Ability to lead projects and participate in projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams
JOB QUALIFICATIONS- Graduate of BS Accountancy or related course
- Preferably a CPA or CMA
- 4 to 7 years of accounting or financial analysis
- Experienced in working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, MSBC, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounting standards (e.g. new PFRS, etc.)
- Ability to interpret financial data and translate into insights
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
