  • Quality Standards: Maintain bulletproof audit trails by preparing workpapers to a review-ready standard using ActivWorkpaper.

  • Technical Calculations: Handle complex Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations, trust distributions, and Division 7A loan management (including UPE tracking and repayment schedules).

  • Fringe Benefits: Prepare and report Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), including car benefits and employee allowances.

  • Research & Liaison: Research technical tax issues and manage ATO correspondence or audits when required.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for software automation and process optimization to improve overall firm efficiency.

What You Bring

  • The Experience:Minimum of 5 years of total accounting experience, with at least 3 years specifically dedicated to Australian tax accounting. Experience working within an AU public practice environment is strongly preferred.

  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating Xero (certification preferred), MYOB, Class, and NowInfinity.

  • The Mindset: An analytical thinker who works comfortably without hand-holding, exercises sound independent judgment, and possesses the clear potential to grow into a leadership role as the firm scales.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the clarity needed to handle direct client communication.
