Senior Accountant

Location: Clark
Shift: 9:00PM - 6:00AM (Monday-Friday) PHT
Work Arrangement: Onsite

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Accountant is both an accomplished accountant and manager, reporting to the Director of Accounting Operations. They will oversee all aspects of client services and manage a team of four to six accountants in providing personalized accounting, HR management, and related services to our clients

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise four to six accounting team members (staff accountants and accounting assistants) and their delivery of client services
  • Manage client relationships, lead client meetings, and resolve issues in a timely way
  • Provide client services as needed
  • Review processes related to client services, looking for opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of client service delivery
  • Coach team members in the use of process tools and the thorough documenting of processes, and provide technical support as needed
  • Manage client assignments and workloads, making changes as needed
  • Ensure appropriate tasks are assigned to accounting assistant(s)
  • Promote a customer champion attitude, and ensure clients are highly satisfied
  • Determine if tasks and/or projects need to be elevated to the director of accounting operations
  • Be integrally involved in on-boarding new clients including leading kick-off calls, assessing client needs, and building out the scope of services and related time estimates
  • Track and manage team KPIs including billable vs non-billable hours, delegated tasks, and client lineability; participate in the development of additional KPIs related to efficiencies, client satisfaction, client retention
  • Review preliminary monthly financials prepared by your team and provide feedback regarding revisions and/or corrections needed
  • Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new team members

  • Provide bookkeeping and related services to clients
  • Assist with various bookkeeping tasks and assigned projects, including customer invoicing, accounts receivable management, expense and accounts payable management, account reconciliations, payroll, and financial report preparation
  • Participate in the onboarding of new clients, if needed
  • Recognize, address and resolve issues on a timely basis
  • Document and maintain process notes related to workload and work flow in Asana, Financial Cents and Google Drive
  • Perform other general functions as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring accounting teams (4-6 team members or more)
  • Strong background in client relationship management, including leading client meetings and resolving issues
  • Hands-on experience providing full-cycle bookkeeping services (AR, AP, payroll, reconciliations, financial reporting)
  • Experience reviewing monthly financial statements and providing constructive feedback and corrections
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements, workloads, and deadlines effectively
  • Strong understanding of process improvement, documentation, and workflow optimization
  • Experience onboarding new clients, including needs assessment, scope definition, and time estimation
  • Familiarity with KPI tracking (billable vs. non-billable hours, utilization, efficiency, client satisfaction, retention)
  • Proficiency with cloud-based accounting and workflow tools (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, Asana, Financial Cents, Google Workspace)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable providing coaching and technical guidance
  • Customer-focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to promote high client satisfaction
  • Ability to recognize issues early and escalate appropriately when needed
  • Experience participating in hiring, onboarding, and training of accounting staff
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and commitment to fostering a positive and supportive team environment
