Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant 2 is responsible for managing general ledger activities, month-end close processes, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities. This role supports accurate financial reporting by performing account analysis, preparing journal entries, resolving accounting discrepancies, and improving reconciliation processes while ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards.
Job Description:
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple entities using standardized templates and supporting documentation.
• Rebuild and improve assigned reconciliations by validating accounting accuracy, identifying unsupported balances, aged items, and misclassifications, and recommending corrective entries.
• Support monthly close activities by preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and required financial adjustments.
• Perform bank reconciliations, investigate outstanding items, and resolve reconciling discrepancies.
• Maintain supporting schedules, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other accounting roll-forwards.
• Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Perform intercompany accounting activities, including preparing entries and reconciling balances across entities.
• Analyze financial variances and unexpected balances, document findings, and escalate issues with recommended solutions.
• Support external audit requirements by preparing financial schedules and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure completeness of financial documentation.
• Contribute to accounting process improvements, including reconciliation template standardization, documentation improvements, and workflow enhancements.
• Collaborate with the Controller and corporate accounting team to support financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Experience handling balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities.
• Experience supporting US-based clients or US parent companies preferred.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial reconciliations.
• Demonstrates strong understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
• Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to research discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail with ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with US-based stakeholders and accounting teams.
• Proven ability to work independently while managing deadlines during month-end close periods.
• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.
Screening Criteria:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience using Sage Intacct.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel functions including lookups, pivot tables, and managing large datasets.
• Must have stable employment history.
