Senior Accountant
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time, with a 1-hour unpaid break
Job Overview:
We are seeking an exceptionally motivated, reliable, and hands-on Senior Accountant wit deep expertise in Quickbooks Online . This role is critical to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, requiring ownership of the entire accounting lifecycle, from initial transaction categorization through month-end closing. The ideal candidate is highly self-sufficient, responsive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-Cycle Accounting Ownership: Independently manage and execute the entire bookkeeping process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Accounts Payable (AP) Management: Own the full AP cycle, including accurately entering vendor bills, managing documentation, and ensuring timely payment processing.
- Client Approval Workflow: Establish and manage efficient workflows for obtaining necessary approvals from clients or management prior to bill payment and execution of major transactions.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee and run the company payroll process accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax and labor regulations.
- Transaction Processing: Categorize, verify, and process all financial transactions, including proper cost categorization relevant to construction projects (e.g., job costing) and SaaS-specific revenue recognition.
- Month-End Close: Execute a timely and efficient month-end closing process, including preparation and entry of all necessary Adjusting Journal Entries (AJEs).
- Reconciliation: Perform daily/weekly reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit card accounts with meticulous attention to detail.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing internal financial statements and provide insightful analysis on performance metrics (e.g., WIP, deferred revenue, COGS, etc.).
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements, especially those related to construction contracts (ASC 606/340) and SaaS revenue (ASC 606).
Certification:
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred but not required.

Experience:1520 years of experience and extensive use of QuickBooks Online
Industry & Technical Expertise
- Dual-Industry Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of accounting principles in Construction, Rental, and SaaS environments.
- Construction: Strong understanding of job costing, percentage-of-completion method, and managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
- SaaS: Practical experience with subscription revenue recognition (ASC 606/deferred revenue), SaaS COGS, and capitalization of internal-use software development costs.
