Role Description

Unified Global is seeking a Senior Accountant with solid experience in US payroll processing to join our remote team. This role will be instrumental in managing financial reporting, audits, payroll compliance, and financial planning. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting background with specific expertise in US payroll laws, multi-state payroll processing, and payroll tax reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), reconciliations, and general ledger activities
• Process vendor payments and support accurate and timely A/P processing
• Perform A/R reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Record and reconcile accruals, including PTO/sick leave, employee expenses, and other recurring expenses
• Upload and maintain receipts and supporting documentation
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data through proper recording, verification, and consolidation of transactions
• Prepare and analyze journal entries related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare trial balances
• Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Assist with and/or lead internal audit engagements, as well as support external audits and quarterly reviews
• Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and SOX requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records using QuickBooks, Bill.com, and other accounting systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with payroll-related responsibilities
• Strong hands-on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger accounting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Bill.com
• Experience with NetSuite is required
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition principles
• Experience supporting financial close, audits, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Big 4 experience and/or CPA designation preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and contribute to accounting and reporting efficiency
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
